Alta Bernice Golson Kirks October 26, 1915-October 16, 2014 Alta Golson Kirks, 98, of Waco, passed away on October 16, 2014, at Providence Hospice. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, at Hewitt First United Methodist Church. Alta was born October 26, 1915, in Speegleville, Texas, the daughter of B. J. and Lillian Golson. She married Arlee Kirks December 10, 1940, and was preceded in death by him on October 23, 1968. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Jerry Kirks and wife, Linda, of Helotes, Texas, James Kirks and wife, Fran, of Morrison, Colorado, Beverly Kirks Rhea and husband, O. M., of Spicewood, Texas; seven grandchildren, Terri King, Gary Kirks, Jennifer Bueno, Kelli Helzer, Heather Jorgensen, Colby Rhea and Chad Rhea; 13 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
