Billy Darrell Roberts

Billy Darrell Roberts, Sr. age 79, passed away August 3, 2021 at home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 6th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in the Garden Room. Billy was born on June 20, 1942 at the family homestead in Winkler, Texas (near Streetman). He spent most of his school years in Bellmead, Texas and graduated from La Vega High School. He traveled with his family to Okinawa, Japan, where he met his future wife. He and Martha Kay Kellam were married in 1965 and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. He lived and worked in Houston, where his three children were born. He later moved north to New Caney, where he and his brother, Mike, started a business together and serviced the community there for over 20 years. He then moved to Lake Limestone where he and Marty were semi-retired for several years before returning to Bellmead in the early 1990’s. Billy is survived by his wife, Martha; his three children; Kym Kiddy of Houston, Kelli Chapman of Waco and Billy Roberts, Jr. of Austin; and his brother, Mike Roberts of Porter/New Caney; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulish Floyd Roberts, Jr. and Carrie Belle Roberts; and his sister, Vickie Lynn Looney.
