Billy Joe Reaves

Billy Joe Reaves, 72, of Waco, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St Anthony's Care Center in Waco. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Billy was born January 11, 1950, in Waco. He grew up in Waco. He married Theresa Barton on June 3, 2016.

Billy served in the Army and was honorably discharged.

He was in law enforcement for many years before becoming a teacher for Waco ISD. He worked as security for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and he was a Deputy Constable for McLennan County Precinct One after his retirement from teaching. He loved his wife, family, and friends. He enjoyed going to Barnes and Noble to visit with everyone. He always had a story that taught a lesson. He had a great singing voice. He had a karaoke following.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie E. Reaves and Launa Kunchick; and sons, Josh Zarecor and Bobby Barton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Reaves; sister, Susan Cooper and husband, Pete; daughter, Donna McCall and husband, Dennis; sister-in-law, Kathleen Aguilar; brothers-in-law, Martin Patton and Darrel Patton and wife, Julie; grandsons, Santiago Suarez and partner, Mariela Juarez Gonzalez, Antonio Suarez, Jr., and wife, Sylvia; and granddaughters, Renae Harper and Chloe Zarecor. He also has four beautiful great-granddaughters, Lilly, Rose, Mia, and Ava. He was survived by Joanne Tellez, Joey McCall and wife Jodie, Paden McCall and wife Stephanie, and Kalyn Padgett and husband Kendall. His additional great grandchilderen Rayden, Halle, Ellie, Brayden, Breaha, Alyssa, Milo and Jasper, and chosen daughter Carmen Miles.

Billy has many special family and friends. He is grateful for family friend Andreinna Bost and niece Valarie Mueller for their support during this difficult time.
