Corrie Elizabeth Allen Logan, age 68, died at Ascension Providence Hospital, Waco, Texas, on December 20, 2020, with her husband at her side. Corrie will be cremated and interred at the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church, Waco, Texas. Services of interment and celebration of her life are still being planned. Corrie was born in Dallas, Texas, October 17, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, and she grew up in Huntsville, Texas; Austin, Texas; Huntington, West Virginia; and Ann Arbor, Michigan. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1971. She then attended Sam Houston State University, from which she received at B.A.T. in 1974, and then Southwest Texas State University for an M.Ed. in 1977. She served as a teacher for over 30 years in New Waverly, Huntsville, Austin, and Waco. Corrie was active in many organizations over the years, serving as president, treasurer and active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Chi Omega alumnae, P.E.O., Keep Waco Beautiful, Association for Texas Professional Educators, Baylor University Round Table, First Presbyterian Church Choir, and others. Corrie was a wonderful woman, teacher, wife, mother, friend, leader, and companion. Corrie married Timothy Logan on March 29, 1975, in Austin. They had one son, James Malcom Logan, in 1979. Corrie was preceded in death by her parents, James Stewart Allen and Norma Louise McKinney Allen; her uncle, John McKinney; and grandparents, Joseph Hubbard and Leone Martin McKinney and Staton Powell and Corrie Walker Allen. She is survived by son and husband, James and Tim; her sister, Caroline and husband, Greg Balke; her nephews and nieces, Clark Balke, Victoria Logan, Douglas Logan, Courtney Logan, Annie­Laurie Logan Klein, Zachary Logan, and Allison Kendrick; brothers-in-law, David Logan and wife, Diana, and Barrie Logan and wife, Ruth; and sister-in-law, Heather Logan. Memorials may be given in Corrie’s honor to First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Austin Ave. , Waco TX 76701.
