Miner, Daniel Read December 15, 1960 – October 29, 2005 Daniel Miner of Waco went to be in the presence of the Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 2 for friends and family at Waco Memorial North. A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco at 11:30 AM, Wednesday. Daniel was born on December 15, 1960 in Stephenville, Texas to Read and Mary Miner. He attended Tarleton State University where he received his BS degree. He began his career as a County Extension Agent for McLennan County and was employed as a pharmaceutical representative for Merck for the past nine years. Daniel married Debbie Pierce June 1, 1985. Though he accomplished a great deal in his 44 years on earth, his greatest earthly treasures were his wife and three beautiful children. His legacy of life and faith will be an ever-present source of strength to those who loved him. If there was a word that described Daniel Miner it would be “passionate”. He loved life and lived it to the end in the only way he knew how – full force. He was passionate about his love for the Lord, his love for his family and friends, his work and at play. He was extremely proud of his children and was very involved in their activities: church, school, sports, band and music. As a long time member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, he was active in many areas of leadership. He served as part of the Deacon Fellowship, taught Sunday school in both the College department and more recently 4th grade, where again Daniel showed his passion by teaching children each week. He was a Royal Ambassador counselor and served on various church committees. Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his father-in-law, James Pierce. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Debbie; his three children, Pierce, Chandler and Harrison; also, by his parents, Read and Mary Miner; three sisters, Mary Miner, Ruth Campbell and husband, Brad and Rachel Moore and husband, Alan; mother-in-law, Marie Pierce, sisters-in-law, Sherri Henderson and husband, Chuck, Donna Pierce, Karen Vidrine and husband, Kevin; also by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?” Run in such a way as to get the prize” 1 Cor. 9:24. You have run well, Daniel Miner. Now receive your prize. Memorials may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, 1300 Columbus Ave., Waco, Texas 76701.
