Donald R. Garrett passed away Friday, October 21, 2022. Services will be Thursday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m., at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with Stuart Huey officiating.
Donald was born August 12, 1934, in Sherman, Texas, to Carroll and Vera Garrett. He attended Waco High School. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Once he completed his service with the USMC, he retired from Lehigh company. He loved to travel; he was on a bowling league for years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carroll and Vera; sister, Margaret Reed; brother-in-law, Jimmie W. Jackson; brother-in-law, Lloyd Ernest Reed, Jr.; nephews, Jimmie C. Jackson and Larry W. Jackson; niece, Jessie Kay Jackson; great-nephew, J.J. Johnny Jackson, Jr.; and nephew, “Ernie” Ernest Paul Reed.
He is survived by nieces and nephews Debbie Sather, Johnny W. Jackson, Sr., Diane Kelley, Charlie Jackson, Denise Ray, Debra Smith, Dianne Reed, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
