Dr. Wesley “Jack” N. Laing, Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Jack was a loving husband, and father, who will be deeply missed.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 515 Columbus Ave., Waco, Texas, and immediately following the service, the United States Army will present honors. After the presentation, there will be a Texas style feast in the Great Hall at the church. The burial will be privately performed at the Texas Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen. Calling hours will be on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd, in Waco, Texas.
Born Feb. 9, 1937, in Port Arthur, Texas, he was a proud 5th generation Texan. Always adventurous, he motorcycled through his life and his journeys took him around the world and then back to Texas for the rest of his days. Jack was a proud Veteran and career Army Officer, a 20-year Professor at Texas A&M, a devoted Psychologist specializing in PTSD, drug and alcohol recovery, as well as a lifelong mentor to grad students seeking Doctorates.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Wesley N Laing Sr., and Roberta Lucille Laing; as well as many beloved relatives.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Delmonico; stepchildren, Brandon, Brittany, and Max Delmonico; grandchildren Alexis, Jasper, Penelope, Max ll, Adeline, Dexter, Arlo, Anson, Xu-Rui; and great-grandson Sebastian; he is also survived by 5 Chinese sons Leo, Lester, Allen, David and Yang; 2 daughters; and a host of relatives and dear Friends.
