Francisco “Frank” D. Rey, 58, a loving husband and father, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2007. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Frank was born August 9, 1948 in Fort Stockton, TX to Carmen Francisco Rey Jr. and Tomasa Dominguez Rey. He graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1966 and then enlisted in the Marines in 1967. After being honorably discharged, Frank attended San Angelo State University and later graduated from Texas State Technical College in Waco with a degree in Commercial Art. He worked for the U.S. Postal services for 29 years and received numerous awards for service. Frank volunteered for various community services, including being a Scout leader for Troop 308 and a Coach for Little League Baseball, which affected many young lives. Frank was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmen Rey Sr., Catalina F. Rey, Pedro Garcia Dominguez and Guadalupe Galindo Dominguez. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Ida Rey, sons Darrick Rey, Andrew “Andy” Rey, and Jeremy Rey; and beloved chihuahua, Kookie; goddaughters, Melissa Ann Kelly of San Angelo, Catelia Ramirez Romero of Waco; siblings Romelia Rey Cordova, Virginia Rey, Emelia Rey Urias, and Larry Rey, all of Fort Stockton, and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Tino Andrade, John D. Casas, Roy Rey Esparza, Johnny Lugo, Leroy Montez, Jaime Ramirez, Harold Songstad Jr., and Joe A. Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Carroll Fletcher, Chuck Mason, Harold Songstad Sr., Ronè Ramirez Sr., Ronè Ramirez Jr., Nathan Rey, Anthony Rey Cordova, Leo Terrazas, Salif Mahamane, Toby Jacinto Sr., Edward T. Ramirez of California, John Cullar, Dr. Greg Benesh, and Mark Olvera. Memorial memory pallbearers are Jesse Ramirez Jr, Ray Lugo, and Freddie Rey Flores.
