Gene Joseph Mikeska, Sr. passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Memorial and graveside services are pending; please contact the family for details.

Gene was born June 2, 1938, in Dallas, to Joseph and Lilly Mikeska. He was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife of 51 years, Marcy M. Mikeska; and his grandson, Joseph Lee Mikeska.

He was a dedicated Christian and a loving husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. He had a playful spirit and a joy of life he shared with everyone he met until his passing.

He enjoyed great food, and country living. As a pilot, he loved to fly and enjoyed fishing, boating, and sailing with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his six children, Robin I. Mikeska, William H. Mikeska, Gene J. Mikeska Jr. and wife, Tammy L Mikeska, April M. Maher, Eric M. Mikeska, and Suzzanne M. Quick; and his nine grandchildren, Christina Bagley, Ariel Pena, Brian Myers, Allyse Myers-Mitchell and her husband, Chris, Lauren Zino, Erin Maher, Daniel Quick, Hannah Quick, and Bayleigh Maher.
