Herbert J. Raatz, Jr.

RAATZ, JR., HERBERT J. Herbert J. Raatz, Jr., 75, of Waco passed away Monday, May 5, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 3:30pm Thursday, May 8 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with the Rev. Michael Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial North. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Wednesday, May 7 at the funeral home. Mr. Raatz was born in Austin in 1927. He attended the University of Texas in Austin. He married his wife, Margie in 1957. In 1973, Herb and Margie moved to Waco from Dallas. They were wholesale distributors of Tupperware products under the business name of Dandy Sales, Inc. from 1973 until 1994 in Central Texas. Herb served his country in World War II in the Navy Air Corp. He was a past member of Waco Kiwanis and contributed to his community for five years by delivering Meals On Wheels twice a week. He was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margie; son, Stephen Raatz and his wife, Jessica with two children Austin and Ashley; daughter, Kathy Mirick and her husband Bret Mirick with two daughters Jordan and Lindsay; daughter, Carol Raatz and granddaughter Melissa Raatz. Pallbearers will be Bret Mirick, Billy Pavliska, Cliff Johnson, Charles Thornal, Randy Troup, and C.L. Fisher. Herb, “DADADEE”, will be deeply missed by family and friends.
