Jane Ellen Gamble Bower July 22, 1954 – November 20, 2015 Jane Ellen Gamble Bower of Dallas, formerly of Waco, died on Friday, November 20, 2015. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, at First Presbyterian Church , 1100 Austin Avenue, Waco, Texas with burial at Gerald Cemetery, located on F.M. Road 308. Jane was born in Houston, Texas on July 22, 1954, to Charles and Geneva Gamble. Jane is a graduate of the class of 1973 of Richfield High School, Waco and attended Brookhaven Community College. Jane loved plants and flowers and many days she could be found puttering around her small apartment garden. She also had an open heart for stray cats. Jane adored the beach and a good tan. She also never met a stranger and leaves many beloved friends. She was an avid viewer of Perry Mason reruns and adored old movies. She will be remembered for her strength and courage as she battled esophageal and lung cancer. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Asa and Alice Gamble and Iva and Buford Waldsmith. She is survived by her daughter, Meagan Bower, her parents, Charles and Geneva Gamble; her sister, Mary Alice Lyman; her brother, Charles E. Gamble; and her nieces, Alice Lyman and Anna Ousley. The family would like to thank Kevin Bower for his support and care during Jane’s illness. Gifts can be given to charity of choice with emphasis on the American Cancer Society and pet rescue.
