John G. Rodriguez April 28, 1924 - November 3, 2015 John (Johnny) G. Rodriguez of Waco passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, at Oakwood Cemetery with Deacon Jessie C. Garza officiating. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., and Rosary Service at 7 p.m., Thursday, November 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. John was born April 28, 1924 in Buda, Texas, to Miguel and Angela (Garcia) Rodriguez. He served in the U.S. Army beginning 1943 to 1952, having served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. John retired from the VA Medical Hospital after 35 years of helping his fellow veterans and worked for Waco Stockyards for 15 years. John was one of the founding members of the Waco Missions Club. After retirement he proceeded to take care of his cattle, which he enjoyed very much. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Teresa Flemming; and brothers, Cecil Rodriguez, Candido Rivera and Albert Rivera. He is survived by his wife, Inez Fuentes Rodriguez; daughter, Delores Trevino and husband, Rudy; son, Robert Rodriguez and wife, Carolyn, all of Waco; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Almanza, brothers, Jesse Rodriguez and wife, Evangelina, and Alex Rivera; step-daughters, Eva Ayers and Estella Rodriguez; and step-son, Ceasar Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews. The family expressed their sincere appreciation to Gwen Sammon with Bluebonnet Health Services and the staff of Ridgecrest Retirement Center for their excellent care to John.
