Reid, M.D., John Miller Dr. John Miller Reid, died peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2005. Memorial services for Dr. Reid will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 26 at St Paul’s Episcopal Church. Dr. Reid was born June 2, 1939 in Corsicana, Texas to Kathleen and Miller Reid. He graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 1957. He attended Baylor University and graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1961. While at Baylor, he was a member of Tryon Coterie/Phi Delta Theta. His medical education was at the University of Texas Galveston where he graduated in 1965. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa and President of the Student Body. He served an internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, a residency in Otolaryngology and a post-graduate fellowship in head and neck surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and was a member of the American College of Surgeons. He opened his Otolaryngology practice in Corsicana, Texas and subsequently moved to Waco in 1974 where he practiced until his retirement in 1999. He was Chief of Staff at Hillcrest Hospital, Chairman of the Board of Vanguard School, a member of the staff of Providence Hospital, a member of the McLennan County Medical Society and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his father, John Miller Reid, Jr., his maternal grandparents, Sallie and Forrest Connally and his paternal grandparents, Bessie and John Miller Reid, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Parker Reid; his mother, Kathleen Connally Reid; his children Graham Parker Reid and Paige Reid Porello and husband Stephen; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Katie and two cousins, Betty Dean McClendon and Sally Dee Wade.
