Dawson, Lillian Estelle Hughes September 13, 1924 – August 29, 2005 Lillian Estelle Dawson, 80, of Waco, peacefully went home to the Lord Monday, August 29, 2005. Services will be at 11:30 AM, Friday, September 2 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with her nephew, Rev. Russell Dixon and son, Rev. Danny Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September 1 from 6 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home, 6101 Bosque. Lillian was born September 13, 1924 to Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hughes in Coryell County, Texas. She met her husband, Wade Lee Dawson, while making bombs during WWII at Blue Bonnet Ordinance Plant in McGregor. She devoted her life to raising her children and cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Wade of more than 59 years; daughters, Annette Bell and husband James of Hewitt, Donna Callaway and husband, Gary of Georgetown, Cheryl Turner and husband, Mike of Hewitt and Gina Childers and husband Mike, of Speegleville; sons, Larry Dawson and wife Carol of Hallsburg and Danny Dawson and wife Vicki of Lorena; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Dixon of Waco and brother, Reginald Hughes and wife Betty of Woodway. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to thank Dr. Sudan and Providence Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crosstie Baptist Church, 309 Alma Rd., Waco, Texas 76705.
