Lois Landis passed away Monday, February 5, 2018. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Richard Roland officiating. A visitation will follow the memorial service at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Lois was born July 6, 1924, in Ashland, Ohio, to John and Nettie Alverson. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1942 and attended Ashland College in Ashland. Her high school class became known as the "Class of 42”. The class met once monthly for breakfast and traveled to places that had meaning to them such as Germany, England, Austria, and finally, the World War II Memorial in Washington DC. She enjoyed her class activities, traveling, playing cards with friends, and dining out. She was active in the church where she grew up, First Christian Church in Ashland. She was also a member of Lakewood Christian Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Landis; daughter, Susan Cross; three sisters, Martha Woolford, Avis Biddinger, and Violet Phillips; a nephew, Robert Ward; and niece, Mary Phillips. She is survived by her son-in-law, Rick Cross; grandson, Jonathan Cross; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Cordero.
