Marge was born on March 8, 1927, in Tupelo, Texas, to Mary Anna (McCord) and Thomas Clark McMullan. She passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Waco. Her spouse, Frank, whom she married on January 3, 1947, in Corsicana, had passed away on Valentine's Day, 2009. The closure of their beautiful "love story", reunited at heaven's gate on a day dedicated to love, has warmed the hearts of those who knew them.
A family graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 I-35, Robinson, TX. A Celebration of Life service will be held the same day at 2:00 p.m., at Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, 1201 W Hwy 6, Waco, TX.
Marge attended Four C Business College in Waco. She had a brief secretarial career; however, after she and Frank married, her passion in life was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. As her three children grew, she busied herself with their school, church and extra-curricular activities. She and her husband were long-time members of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, in Waco. They served in a variety of capacities, including Meals on Wheels. Marge's ministry extended to senior care facilities, where she would give those she visited a generous slice of angel food cake or a small arrangement of flowers in a bud vase. She had many talents, including sewing, painting bluebonnets and creating a variety of crafts. Marge was a marvelous cook, preparing delicious meals, lovely family birthday cakes and perfectly decorated Christmas cookies. Her family proclaimed her the "Jell-O Salad Queen", because rarely was a meal served without a Jell-O salad. But most of all, her family treasured the love, faith, and wisdom she instilled in her children, the "grands", and the in-laws, who were also recipients of the same motherly love.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers and their spouses, Robert Boyd McMullan, wife Thelma, and Charles Dewey McMullan, wife Ann; sister, Joyce Almenta McMullan Bowden Kyles; brothers-in-law, Bill Bowden and Sherman Kyles; son-in-law, Lanny Sparks Garner; niece, Barbara Bowden Day; nephew, Boyd McMullan; and nephew-in-law Mark Galloway.
Marge is survived by her children (and their spouses): Ronda Garner Jackson (Bobby), Randall Roberts (Brenda), Robin Roberts (Susan), and Frank Roberts, Jr. (Judy); five grandchildren, Grant Garner (Michelle), Chelsea Roberts, Mallory Roberts Eskew (Dustin), Saige Roberts, and Burke Roberts (Cindy); three great-grandchildren, Alexis Garner, Andrew Garner and Rachel Roberts; and sister-in-law, Wilma McMullan, widow of brother Robert McMullan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
