Mary Ruth Williams, 88, of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 25, 2021. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 10, at 11 am, at Highland Baptist Church. The Reverend Mark Wible and Reuven and Janet Ross will be officiating. Mary was born on March 21, 1933, to Otto and Emma Glockzin of Riesel. She was the tenth of 12 children. Mary graduated from Riesel High School in 1952. She also attended Durham Business College. Mary worked as a payroll clerk for Weston Biscuit Company for several years and was at work in downtown Waco during the tornado strike of 1953. She married Charles G. Williams in Waco, on September 1, 1956. They remained married until his death in September 2020. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Waco, and later joined Highland Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death. Mary loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She took particular joy in family gatherings, both her immediate family and her large, extended family. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles G. Williams; her brothers, Emmanuel and Albert; her sisters, Selma, Lydia, Martha, Rose, Lorene, Elsie, and Ruby. Mary is survived by her son, Charles Williams and wife, Laura; and daughter Diane Williams Steward and husband, Mike. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Bryan Williams, Matthew Williams, Jacob Steward, Kathleen Steward Talley and husband, Josh, and Daniel and Lauren Steward; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Avery Steward; and two brothers, Alfred and Curtis.
