Merline Davies October 6, 1922 - April 3, 2010 Merline Davies of Waco went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 3, 2010, at her home. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Harley Gordon and Rev. Reggie Blake officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mrs. Davies was born October 6, 1922, in Morgan Mill, Texas. She married Wilmer Davies on October 19, 1939, in Stephenville, TX. She has been a resident of Waco for 52 years and was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Waco. She worked and retired from Big J Apparel after many years. She was a loving, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Wilmer Davies; and her son, Danny Ray Davies. She is survived by her sons, Stephen P. Davies and Mona Lisa Cowan of San Antonio; Tom Davies of Houston; and Stephen Davies, Jr., of Robinson; eight grandchildren, Candice Davies, Stephen Davies, Jocie Davies, Ben Davies, Mamie Cowan, Victoria Davies, Denton Davies and Damon Davies; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are A, J. Sandoval, Chipper Miller, Damon Davies, Denton Davies and Manuel Collins. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Claverie. Memorials may be made to Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
