SANDERS, MRS. O. D. Mrs. O. D. Sanders, age 105, of Dallas formerly of Waco died on Monday, August 12, 2002 in Dallas. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 16th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Washington Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave. with Rev. Nathan Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15th at the funeral home. Mrs. Sanders was born May 11, 1897 in Ozan, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She married O. D. Sanders February 23, 1920. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1961. She was a longtime member of North Waco Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by one son, Norman Sanders, in 1991, one daughter, Marilyn White, in 2002 and two grandsons, Danny Sanders in 1958 and Leslie Phelps in 1983. Survivors include daughter, Elaine Phelps of Garland, son, Neal Sanders and wife Nancy of Dallas, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law Beth Sanders of Lindale, Texas. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Memorials may be made to North Waco Baptist Church or favorite charity. Family e-mail is nealsand@aol.com.
