Patsy Mcgee Howard

Patsy Ruth McGee Howard, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Waco.

Patsy was born February 11, 1929, in Big Sandy, Texas, to Mack and Jessie McGee. As a teenager in Kilgore, Texas, she enjoyed church, school, and civic activities. After graduation from Kilgore High in 1946, she enrolled at Baylor University. There, she met the “man of her dreams” and married Stanley P. Howard, Jr., September 5, 1948.

Following her graduation from Baylor University, Pat, along with her husband Stan, was appointed in 1949 as a missionary by the Southern Baptist Convention’s Foreign Mission Board. She and Stan served in Japan from 1950 until their retirement on January 1, 1988.

Throughout her life, Pat’s love and joy was found in serving God and creating a joyful home filled with Christ’s love for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Linda Bland, husband, Jim; son, Stanley III, wife, Loan, and their sons, Tom and Kevin, of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Justin Thauwald, of Tokyo, Japan, and Nathan Thauwald and wife, Chelsea, and their three daughters, of Tyler, Texas.

Per Pat’s request, a private family graveside service will be held at Waco Memorial Park.
