Roger was born in Waco to Pat and Roger Frields Sr. on October 30, 1979. He graduated from LaVega High School in 1998. He then attended Temple College and Mary Hardin Baylor, playing baseball for both Schools. He then went on to play for the Jay Hawk League in Kansas before an elbow injury ended his career. Upon his return to Waco, Roger played for the Waco Missions, who won multiple championships.
On November 17, 2012, Roger married his childhood friend, LuAnne Butler of Waco. Roger and LuAnne celebrated their ten-year anniversary earlier this year with a bucket list trip to Alaska.
Roger worked at McCoy’s Building Supply as an Outside Salesman for over five years. He recently fulfilled one of his dreams by opening Collect’em, a card and comic shop with his partner Kevin Ferguson.
Roger loved going to Comic Con, collecting comics, watching movies, grilling, and traveling. He also enjoyed Sunday, “Family Frields Day,” resting at the house with his wife and two Schnauzers, Loki Jack and Thor Jack. Many will remember Roger for his amazing illusions as Rooster’s Street Magic.
Roger is survived by his wife, LuAnne Butler; father, Roger Frields Sr.; mother, Pat Frields; brother, Chad Frields; sister, Alisha Webre, her husband, Greg Webre, Sr., and their children, Greg Jr. and Christina, mother- and father-in-law, Pam and Woody Butler; Roger’s fur babies, Loki and Thor; and many other family members and friends.
