OWENS, SANDRA SANDY Sandra Owens Sandy, age 63 of Hewitt, Texas died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:30am Monday, March 1, 2004 at First United Methodist Church of Hewitt with the Reverend Rich Mang officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Sunday, February 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Sandy was born October 24, 1940 in Topsey, Texas to Ardell and Viola Adams Stiles. Sandy graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1958. Sandy worked for Texas Power and Light Company for 31 years. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Ardell Stiles. Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Bill Owens; mother, Viola Stiles of Topsey; brother, Dale Stiles of Roanoke; sisters, Jean Dale of Lubbock, Linda Woods and husband, Jim of Purmela and LaDell Walker and husband, David of Lampasas; sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Skidmore and Catherine Owens of Waco and Mary Ann Owens of Hendersonville, Tennessee; her special caregiver of eight years, Rachael Moore, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be John Frels, John Burgendahl, Dixon Toney, Jeff Weaver, Bobby Dupree, and Neil Clark. Sandy’s family wishes her to be remembered as a kind, loving, strong person, who fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for sixteen years.
