STEVEN DAVID MORALES, 40 of Woodway, died Saturday, May 5, 2001 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. David Leibham and Rev. Melvin Dornak officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Tours. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Steven Morales was born September 2, 1960 in Waco to David and Jeanine Morales. He was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson Moore High School and a graduate of McLennan Community College. He received his bachelors degree from New York Institute of Technology and was working on his MBA from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. He was employed at Hillcrest Health Systems for the last 15 years. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. For the past 2 ½ years Steven had fought a courageous and exhausting battle with cancer. He was an extraordinary husband, devoted father, loving son and caring friend. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Leon and Anita Morales, his maternal grandfather Victor Duport and his grandfather-in-law August Dulak. Survivors include his wife Karen Patterson Morales; his children: Eric, Gabrielle, Lucas and Tessa Morales all of Woodway; his parents: David and Jeanine Morales of Waco; his brother Andre Morales of Waco; his father and mother-in-law Tommy and Albina Patterson of China Spring; his brother-in-law Curtis Ray and his wife Beverly and nephews Curtis and Patrick Patterson all of China Spring; his material grandmother Odette Duport of Caen, France; grandmother-in-law Eleanor Dulak of Waco; and a number aunts, uncles and cousins of both France and Waco. Pallbearers will be Larry Barnes, Monty Lee, David Hoskins, John Ucci, Sam Alexander, Ben Desopo, John Kramolis, and Robert Greeson. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Piccard, Mark Fricker, Todd Ashley, Terry Michael and Ray Bell. The family would like to thank all of the family, friends, medical staff and Hillcrest Hospice for their wonderful love and support throughout this difficult time. We will be eternally grateful.
