Thomas Lane Corley October 9, 1940 - February 16, 2009 Thomas Tom Lane Corley of Waco passed away Monday, February 16, 2009. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, at First Baptist Church, Woodway with Rev. D. Michael Toby officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Tom was born October 9, 1940 to Macie Lee McGee Corley and Hiriam Lockhart Corley. He graduated from Lake Providence High School and LSU with a BS and MS degrees in Business Administration. Tom served in the active and reserve components of the U.S. Air Force, ultimately retiring at the rank of Lt. Col. Upon separation from active duty, he worked at the Veterans Administration, was a CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner and was accredited in Business Valuation. He practiced accounting in the Waco area for a number of years before merging the firm of Corley, Hicks and Lee with Patillo, Brown and Hill. He was preceded in death by his father, Hiriam Lockhart Corley; and step-father, Barney Martin. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol of Waco; one son, Lt. Col Christopher Chris Corley and wife, Julie of Bristow, VA; three grandchildren, Jacob, Chrystal and Danielle of Bristow, VA; mother, Macie Lee Martin; brothers, Tony Corley and wife, Jane of Ruston, LA; B.T. Terry Martin and wife, Gwen of Poughkeepsie, NY; sisters, Martha Hicks and husband, Joe of Jonesboro, LA; Elizabeth McBride and husband, Wade of Jonesboro, LA; Kathy Roberts and husband, Jay of Monroe, LA and Merrilynne Poda and husband, Dudley of Homer, LA.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Woodway Building Fund, Talitha Koum Institute and Compassionate Ministries.
