AJ was born April 21, 1938, in Mangham, Louisiana, to Austin Whitman (AW) Sunday and Cleo Pietrosky. In 1975, he married Theresa Sunday, they embarked on their life together and started a family.

A true embodiment of the United States Marine Corps ethos, AJ served his country with honor and distinction. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career, as he became a member of the Downsville Baptist Church community, where his faith and kindness touched the lives of many.

AJ's insatiable curiosity knew no bounds. Whether he was tinkering in his workshop or delving into the depths of a new subject, his enthusiasm for learning was contagious. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, unwavering dedication, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge that will continue to inspire.

He was preceded in death by his parents, AW and Cleo Sunday; and his loving wife, Theresa Sunday.

AJ is survived by his son, Jay Sunday and his wife Kathy; his daughters, Genessia, Connie, Cindy, and Cathy; his loving grandchildren, Tim, Justin, Dustin, Mak and Elora; as well as his many great-grandchildren.
