Oleta Rowland September 2, 1923 – February 22, 2006 Oleta Rowland, 82, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, February 27 at First Baptist Church Hewitt with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Committal will follow at 4:00 pm at Cook-Walden/Capital Park in Pflugerville. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Sunday, February 26 at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Garden Room. Oleta was born September 2, 1923 in Sharp, TX to Henry Clay and Annie Maybelle Burkhart. She married John E. Rowland in 1952 and both were members of First Baptist Church Hewitt. Mrs. Rowland was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers Raymond and Lewis Burkhart. She is survived by her daughters, Charlsie Rowland of Hewitt and Barbie Dutton and husband, Mike; grandsons, Jon Michael and Zachary all of Woodway; sisters, Dorothy Stepkovitch and Grace Maxwell both of Austin; brother, Floyd Burkhart of San Marcos, and many loved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Waco Hillcrest Community Hospice or First Baptist Church Hewitt.
