PARTIN, A.S., JR. A.S. Stuart Partin, Jr. age 80, of Waco died Saturday, January 5, 2002 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30PM Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Dr. Nathan Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, January 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Partin was born July 6, 1921 in Raleigh, NC to the late Aldridge Stuart and Bertha Barnes Partin of Chadbourn, NC. He attended North Carolina State College in Raleigh, NC. During World War II, he served in the Army Corp of Engineers in Europe. After the war, he became a building contractor in Waco. Mr. Partin taught for 12 years in the Waco school system as a woodshop instructor at University Junior High School. He also taught at Texas State Technical Institute, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Herring Masonic Lodge #1224. Survivors include his wife, Pansy Partin of Waco, son, Stuart Jack Partin of Waco, sister, Ann Holland of Apex, North Carolina and brother, Retired Brigadier General Benton Kirk Partin of Alexandria, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Leroy Wilson, Guy Melton, Jim Easter, Jim Winton, David Lintz, Clarence Blackman, Ron Miller, Robbie Roberts, John Bumgardner, and Doug Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are James L. Robert, Ernest Huber, J.C. Pyle, and Bob Bibb. Memorials may be made to the individual’s charity of choice. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
