Addison Bernard Smith, Sr. January 8, 1937 - November 21, 2015 Addison Bernard Smith, Sr., of Woodway passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015. His graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. The Stillwater visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Bernie was born January 8, 1937, in Stillwater, to Dr. A.B. Smith and Beatrice Lyon Smith. He married Jane Tua of McAlester, Oklahoma, on May 23, 1959. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1961, where he was a member of the track and field team and Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bernie began his business career in Waco in 1965, opening an A&W Root Beer Drive-In Restaurant. He started Centroplex Outdoors in 1977 and retired in 1989. He was an avid sportsman and hunter and an accomplished skeet and trap competitor. Bernie was elected the first president of the newly organized Waco Gun Club, where he shot skeet and trap. In the 1971 World Skeet Championship Bernie’s two-man team placed first in the 12-gauge class AA. His five-man team won the championship. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter-in-law, Kari Smith. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Smith of Woodway, daughters, Kathy Stephens and husband, Blake, and Sarah Smith Harper; son, Bernard Smith; and a daughter by choice, Sandy Graves; grandchildren, Sarah Stephens, Joshua Stephens and wife, Jewely, Gabriela Harper, Madison Harper, Mallory Harper, Alexis Smith and Addison Smith; and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stephens and Anjewely Stephens.
