Adele Pavelka Rendek

January 28, 1926 — October 11, 2020

Adele Pavelka Rendek, 94, left us on October 11, 2020, to begin her eternal life. She was surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15, at Mart Cemetery, in Mart, Texas. Family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Adele was born and grew up in the Mart and Hallsburg area. She married Henry Rendek. They had two children and lived their life in Waco, Texas. She was a devoted mother and a devoted secretary to the publishers of the Waco Tribune-Herald for 38 years. She enjoyed dancing, gardening and her family. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church for 71 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Albina Pavelka; her brother, Bill Pavelka; and her sister, Oleene Pavelka Thun. Also, preceding her in death were her husband, Henry Rendek; and her son’s wife, Charlotte Anne Whiddon Rendek. Survivors include her devoted brother, John Pavelka and wife, Janie, of Woodway, Texas; her sister, Berley Janak of Austin, Texas; her daughter, Nelda Blackburn and husband, Don, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and her son, Ben Rendek of Waco and a special partner, Ida Rey. Grandchildren include Jeff Blackburn and wife, Brenda, of Aubrey, Texas, David Blackburn and wife, Valentina, of Bari, Italy, Angela Giblin and husband, Kerry, of Iola, Texas, Destiny Taylor and husband, Clint, of Iola, and Shayne Rendek of Rosebud, Texas. Great-grandchildren include Lacey Soto and husband, Chris, of Waco, Alex and Anna Blackburn of Aubrey, Cooper Taylor of Iola, and Davide Blackburn of Bari, Italy. Pallbearers will be Lacey and Chris Soto, Shayne Rendek, Clint Taylor, Mike Janak, and Mark Janak. The family wishes a special thank you to Lacey and Chris Soto. They took loving, excellent care of Adele in her home for the last two years. Memorials may be sent to: Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
