September 10, 1915 — April 4, 2002

PRATER, ADELE Adele Prater, age 86, of Waco died Thursday, April 4, 2002 in a local hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, April 6 at New Hope Cemetery, Mineola, Texas. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-7:30PM Friday, April 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Prater was born September 10, 1915 in Mineola, Texas. She graduated from John Tyler High School and East Texas Business School. She married Elzy Franklin Prater in 1944 in Tyler; he preceded her in death in 1977. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, past president of Soroptimist Club and given a lifetime membership of the PTA. She was a longtime member of the Methodist church. She and her husband started Prater Oil Co. in 1945 in Tyler. Survivors include daughter, Iris Clark and husband, Robert of Clifton; son, Elzy Franklin Prater, Jr. and wife, Cynthia Kilgore; grandchildren, Christie Soto, Gregory Clark, Robbie Clark, and Brandi Prater; great grandchild, Jillian Clark; nieces, Sandra Laudano of Beaumont, Betty Overton of Bryan, Bobbie Mannon of Mineola, and Carolyn Carole of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association and Waco Family Abuse Center. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
