Agnes ''Aggie'' Crow

December 10, 1924 — January 22, 2004

CROW, AGNES HARLAN Agnes Harlan Crow, age 79 of Waco, wife of Fred B. Crow was taken from us on Thursday, January 22, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 11am Monday, January 26 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Janne Alro Osborne officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception in the parish hall. Agnes was the daughter of the late Josephine Torrence Harlan and Thomas Daniel Harlan, born December 10, 1924 in Marlin, Texas. She graduated from Marlin Public Schools, enrolled at Baylor University in 1941, attended Washington College in Chestertown Maryland, and graduated from Baylor University in 1950. She was a charter member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and president of the St. Catherine’s Women’s Guild in 1971. She also served on the board of the Salvation Army, was a member of the Junior League of Waco, an avid bridge player, and a member of the Ridgewood Women’s Golf Association. She and Fred spent time watching the Texas Rangers baseball games, attended sporting events at Baylor and enjoyed reunions with Annapolis friends. They traveled to Europe and made annual visits to Lake McQueeney. Aggie, as her friends called her, met Fred on a blind date at Baylor University when he was home for the summer from the Naval Academy, in Annapolis, Maryland. They were married June 14, 1944 in Marlin. After Fred’s tour of duty during World War II, they settled in Waco, raised two children and made many lifelong friends. She will be truly missed. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frederick Boone Crow; daughter, Paula Crow Rothe and husband, Mike of New Braunfels; son, Jimmy Harlan Crow and wife, Pat of Waco; sister, Julia Vinson of Marlin; she also leaves her legacy through grandchildren, Scott Crow and wife, Heather and Kevin Crow and wife, Allison. Special thanks go to our friends and Hillcrest Hospice, who surrounded her and our family with love during her illness. Memorials may be made to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church or charity of choice.
