BROWN, AGNES Agnes Brown, age 89, of Lacy Lakeview died Thursday, July 03, 2003. Graveside services will be held at 10am Saturday, July 5 at Stanfield-Walker Cemetery, Lacy Lakeview with Rev. Allen Johannes officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 1124 Washington Ave. Mrs. Brown was born November 2, 1913 in Irene, Texas to the late Herman Adolph and Emilie Amelie Manthey Wendt. She married Thomas Alex Brown before WWII; he preceded her in death in 1984. They had lived in the Hill Country and moved to the Waco area in the early 1940s. She kept her family together through the war and had a hand in raising each of the generations at one time or another. Up until her recent illness, she had been very active, maintaining her own lawn and flowers. The family will dearly miss their matriarch. Survivors include daughter, Agnes Louise Schroeder of Lacy Lakeview; son, Thomas A. Brown, Jr. of San Diego, California; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren ,and one great great grandchild.
