Agnes Ryan March 26, 1916 – June 21, 2007 Long-time Waco resident Agnes Ryan died at age 91 of pulmonary edema in El Paso on June 21. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood cemetery. Agnes was born in Waco on March 26, 1916, and graduated from Waco High School in 1934. She worked for many years as a stenographer and typist for various Waco businesses. She moved to El Paso in 2000. In earlier years Mrs. Ryan was active in the American Legion. In later years she was a volunteer at Kate Ross Senior Center and at Waco Legal Services, and was an advocate for the elderly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Carey of Waco, a brother, John Carey jr., two sisters, Alice Hodge and Regina Odom, all of San Antonio, and a grandson, Michael Ryan, of Las Cruces, NM. She is survived by a son, John Ryan, of Las Cruces, NM, a sister, Pat Martin, of Cleburne, Texas, and numerous nephews and nieces.
