AKIRA KAGA Akira “Skeeter” Kaga, age 82 of Waco died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Kaga was born April 23, 1921 in Point Madison, Washington. He proudly served in World War II with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star for his bravery and valor. He enjoyed Vanguard High School sporting events, meeting new people and spending time with family. Mr. Kaga was preceded in death by his parents, Meigi and Mura Kaga, and sisters, Setsuko Kaga, Shigeko Kaga and Fumiko Kaga Sakamoto. Survivors include his wife, Misaye Kaga of Waco; son, Richard Kaga and wife Betty of Waco; granddaughter, Katie Kaga of Austin; sisters, Toshiko Suzaka of Seattle, Washington, and Sue Hasegawa and husband Yo of Torrance, California; brothers, Sam Kaga of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Shoji Kaga and wife Gay of Raleigh, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Joe Sakamoto of Renton, Washington; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Kaga Family Endowment Fund at Vanguard College Preparatory School, 2517 Mt.
