Alan Frederick Hunt passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the age of 83. At this time, there are no plans for a funeral service. Alan Frederick Hunt was born in Downley, Buckinghamshire, England, on August 19, 1938. In 1953, he began his long-time career as a newspaper journalist. His first newspaper job was with the Bucks Free Press in High Wycombe, England. Between 1957-1959, Alan served in the British Army as a Royal Military Policeman in Germany. After completing his military service, he returned to work as a journalist at the Bucks Free Press. It was here he met his future wife, Jacqueline Mary Humphrey. They were married on March 30, 1963. In 1975 he made the decision to move his family to the United States. He took a job at the Waco Tribune-Herald as a newspaper reporter and worked at the "Trib" for five years. In 1980, he took a job at Baylor University combining journalism with his love of photography and worked in Marketing and Communications and at Baylor Law School. He retired in 2006 after working at Baylor for 26 years. He loved his time there and formed many long-lasting friendships with staff members, faculty, and students. Alan spent his retirement enjoying his family, pursuing his hobbies which included his love of cars, gardening, photography and making new friends on trips to the local flea market. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Evelyn Hunt; sister, Janet Avery; and niece, Sarah Avery. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jacqueline; daughter, Julia Riley, and husband, Kenneth, of West; sons, David Hunt and wife, Marianna, of Addison, Geoff Hunt and wife, Joi, of Waco. He has three grandchildren: Laura Pavlicek of West, Madison Riley of Austin, and Alan Philip Hunt of Plano.
