DUNCAN, ALENE Alene Duncan, 84 of Beverly Hills, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 10am Thursday, August 26 at Waco Memorial North with the Rev. Carrol Hambrick officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, August 25 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mrs. Duncan was born August 9, 1920 in the Goody Community in Falls County to Arthur and Matilda Grusendorf. She was reared and educated in the Bethany Community. She married Travis Edward Duncan August 12, 1939. He preceded her in death January 24, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Alsteen Hefft, her parents, a sister, Ruby Stephens and her brothers, Arthur, Walter and Bud Grusendorf. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include Sharon McClindan and husband, Mickey of Elm Mott; son, Jerry E. Duncan and wife, Maggie of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Jay Duncan and wife, Marlu of Lorena, Jeff Duncan and wife, Kim, Jodie Munoz and husband, Mike all of Waco; seventeen great grandchildren; and sisters, Katherine Mitcham and Ora Mae Hinson both of Waco.
