ALFRED GREEN Alfred L. Green, 84, of Waco formerly of Ft. Worth, died November 7, 2001 in a local hospital. Services will be 9:30AM Monday November12, at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park, the Rev. Ron Durham officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be 3:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday November 11 at the funeral home. Mr. Green served in the US Army and was a retired successful businessman, who owned Barber shops on both Carswell AFB in Ft. Worth and James Connelly AFB in Waco. In addition, he owned Barber shops in the Austin, Golden Triangle and Fairgate shopping centers in Waco. A committed Christian, he was a member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church, where he served in various capacities over the years. He was a Deacon, Sunday school Teacher, and Director of the Homebound Department, leader in the Baptist Men and of the youth Training Union. His church honored him in 1983 as the Senior Adult of the Year. SURVIVORS: Wife: Mr. Green leaves behind his loving wife, whom he was devoted and lovingly cared for, Reva Sanders Green Daughter: Gail Linam and husband Dennis Son: Derrell Green and wife Shari Grandchildren: Angela Linam, Diane Linam and husband Farshed, Brooks Linam and wife Sheri, Scott, David and Kali Green Memorial may be made to Columbus Ave. Baptist Church or Dallas Baptist Church.
