Alice I. Anderson

ANDERSON, ALICE Alice Anderson of Waco, age 93, died Monday, December 17, 2001 at a local nursing home. Private family services will be held in Waco with a graveside service in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Mrs. Anderson was born in 1908 in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended Grinnell University and the University of Iowa. While attending the University she was one of three women chosen by Cecil B. DeMille as an outstanding young woman. After marrying Dr. Lial Anderson in 1932, she lived in Worland, Wyoming, where he practiced medicine for many years. Together they built the first hospital in the town. Mrs. Anderson taught school a short time and was the organist at the First Methodist Church. Survivors: Daughters: Pat Kaiser and husband Kurt of Waco Sue McGarvin and husband Larry of TenSleep, WY. Son: Andrew Anderson and wife Mariejanne of Riverside, CA. Sister: Ruth Corcoran of Chelsea, MI. 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Memorials may be sent to DaySpring Baptist Church or Hillcrest Community Hospice.
