COLONEL ALLEN E. HAVEMAN Colonel Allen E. Haveman died March 20, 2007 in Waco at the age of 90. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist on Cobbs Dr., Waco, Texas on Friday, March 23 with Rev. Steve Ramsdel officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Bosque from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22. Al attained the rank of colonel in the US Air Force serving for 30 years in such places as Panama, Korea, the Pentagon and in Germany as well as numerous other locations. He received a BBA from Baylor University, an MAIA from George Washington University, attended the National War College and several other military colleges. He was a Master Mason, Sojourner, Dadalien, was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the First United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Workers Sunday School Class. Following his military retirement in 1969, Al worked 12 years for universities in Ohio and at TSTC in Waco. Among his many interests, Al was an avid golfer. In his own words he loved life and people! He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernon, of over fifty eight years; his parents; six sisters, two brothers, several nieces and nephews. Al is survived by three children, Allen Haveman, Jr and wife, Susan, Beverly Ann Havemann and Robert Paul Haveman. He is also survived by his dearest friend and loving companion for years, Eleanor Smith as well as five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Waco or to your favorite charity.
