KINCANNON, ALMA G. Alma Ehrhorn Guderian Kincannon, 98, died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at a hospital in Clifton. Services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday July 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kincannon was born February 4, 1906, in Rochester, New York, to Reverend and Mrs. Julius E. Ehrhorn. She started school in Chicago, Illinois, graduated from junior high school in Dallas, and from high school in George, Iowa. Mrs. Kincannon graduated magna cum laude from Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1930. While a student at OBU, she taught second year German. She also was the president of Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society. Mrs. Kinncannon also did graduate work at Baylor University. She taught school for three years in Iowa, three years in Perryton, one year at Eddy, four years at Cottonwood near Lorena and finally 25 years at Lorena. She married Adolph William Guderian at Cottonwood Baptist Church in 1935. After his death in 1958, she married Claud F. Kincannon Sr. in 1969. He later died in 1979. Mrs. Kincannon was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church from 1960 until her death. She taught the Hannah Sunday School Class there for many many years. Mrs. Kincannon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elsie Ehrhorn; brother, Roland Ehrhorn; stepdaughter, Mrs. Charlie Gertrude Marstaller; and stepson, Claud F. Kincannon, Jr. Mrs. Kincannon is survived by her daughter, Beverly Pettigrew and husband Robert J. of Harris Creek; stepdaughter, Mrs. Vernon Helen Ekrut of Bedford; stepson, Giles Kincannon and wife Jean of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Hilda Downie of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Mrs. William E. Norma Marstaller of Waco; two grandchildren, Stacy DeBerry and husband, Cliff of Woodbury, Tennessee and Robert J. Pettigrew, Jr., and wife, Angela of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Phillip DeBerry and Taylor DeBerry of Woodbury, Tennessee, and Katherine Ann Pettigrew of Houston; 10 step-grandchildren, and a number of step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Stanley Ekrut, Tommy Lampert, Mike Jackson, Vernon Hansen, Jerry Walters, and Ronnie Marstaller.
