Shirley, Fadene Fadene Shirley of Waco went home to be with our Lord on Sunday morning March 13, 2005. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16 at 9:30 AM at First United Methodist of Waco with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Creek Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 15 from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home on Bosque Blvd. Fadene was born June 25, 1943 in Purmela, Texas. She married Billy Don Shirley November 23, 1961 in Gatesville, Texas and together reared three daughters. Fadene graduated from Baylor University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and a minor in Business. She retired from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business in 1999 and was an active member of First United Methodist of Waco and a regular volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and spending time with family, friends and pets. Surviving Fadene are her husband, Billy Don Shirley of Waco; father, Alton Spencer and his wife Jeanne of Gatesville; mother, Leota Walther of Gatesville; daughter, Karen Russell and her husband Louis and son Justin of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Annette Shirley of Waco; daughter, Marsha Murphy and her husband Johnny and son Jason of San Antonio; sister, Kathy Bigham and her husband Robert of Gatesville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. The Shirley family gratefully acknowledges the many expressions of Christian love from numerous friends and family.
