March 13, 1914 — August 10, 2001

ALTA LEE MITCHELL, 87, beloved sister, aunt, great aunt and friend passed away in Pasadena, TX August 10, 2001. Funeral services will be at 9:30 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, the Bro. Jimmie Spann officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Mitchell was born March 13, 1914 to Oscar and Pearl Pittman in Killeen, TX. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several Waco companies, a former State Director of Texas for Degree of Honor Protective Association and a piano teacher for 16 years. She was a long time member of Memorial Baptist Church. Her parents, Oscar and Pearl Pittman, her husband, Irvy L. Mitchell and her sister Dorothy Louise Pittman preceded her in death. Survivors include her sisters: Lila Mae Dawson of Ft. Gibson, OK and Mary Lois Miller of Pasadena; three nieces: Lila Rogers of Muskogee, OK, Gene Tinnin of Ft. Gibson, OK and Shirley Szulanczyk of Houston and numerous great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tom Tinnin, Richard Cook, George Faught, Wayne Nance, Elmer Hinson and George Lassetter. Many friends and family will dearly miss her. The family would like to thank Bro. Jimmie Spann for his visits to Houston and Pasadena, Doris Barron for faithfully sending church bulletins and Irene Wilson for her many visits, friendship, love and support. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
