RAY, ALVIE Alvie R. Ray, age 81, of Waco, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003 at a local nursing home. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 2 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Dr. Hugo Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse, Texas. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at the funeral home. Mr. Ray was born December 6, 1921 in Emhouse to Bez and Minnie Meadows Ray. He had been a resident of Waco since 1968. He married Imogene Dockery on October 15, 1941. He was a veteran of WW II in the US Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1959 and served an additional 10 years with the Civil Service in Orange, Texas. He enjoyed his retirement years in Waco and was an avid golfer. He was known and loved for his sense of humor. He was a member of the Barry Masonic Lodge and Church on the Rock in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters and his son, Robert Royce Ray in August of 1959. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Ray; daughters Suzanne Parrish and husband Michael of China Spring, Robin Malea Donaldson and husband Curt of China Spring; Grandchildren, Robert Parrish and wife Beth of Sacramento, California, Kimberly Galvan and husband Bubba of Waco, Christopher Caine Donaldson and Benjamin Ray Donaldson both of Waco; great-grandchildren, Isabella Maria Galvan and Samantha Renée Parrish; sisters, Christine Luther and husband James of Corsicana, Marie Adams of Marble Falls; brother, Garvis Ray of Midland and a host of nieces and nephews.
