Angelina Angie Curnutt May 26, 1921 - February 21, 2009 Angelina Angie Meredith Curnutt left this world surrounded by family on Saturday, February 21, 2009 to be with our Lord. Services will be at 10:00 Thursday, February 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Linda Wimberley officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. She was born May 26, 1921 in Eastland, Texas to George H. and Mabel Meredith and graduated from North Texas State University with her teaching degree in 1943. While at North Texas, she met fellow student, Wilburn Curnutt and they married in 1946. She was a 61 year resident of Waco, a long time member of Service Memorial United Methodist Church and more recently, Lake Shore United Methodist Church. She taught in the Waco school system at North and South Junior, Jefferson Moore and Richfield High Schools, was active in the ADK Sorority and served for a time as their president. She also worked in the Camp Fire Girls Organization as District Director and camp director of Camp Val Verde in the 1960s/70s. She was a resident of Stilwell Retirement Residence for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Wilburn; her brothers, Fame, Allen, Dale, George and John Meredith; and her sister, Genevieve Crossley. She is survived by her two daughters, Melinda Dodd and husband, Troy of Kingwood; Nancy Stone and husband, Travis of Houston; and one son, Randy Curnutt and wife, Kris of Lagos, Nigeria; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Kari, Keegan, and Kyle Curnutt, Lacy Belote, Tripp and Tyler Stone; and two great grandchildren, Kevan and Hudson Curnutt. She is also survived her brother, Jack Meredith and sister, Madge Glass. Memorials may be made to Stilwell Retirement Residence, the Methodist Children's Home, Lake Shore United Methodist Church or Meals-On-Wheels.
