Anglin “Red” Oswalt September 23, 1918 – November 27, 2015 Anglin “Red” Oswalt, 97, of Waco, passed from this life to eternal life with Jesus November 27, 2015 surrounded by family. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Terry Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Parker Memorial Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Anglin was born September 23, 1918 in Groesbeck, Texas, to James Henry and Masouria Oswalt. At age 18, he went to south Texas where he began a 50 year career in the oilfield. While living in Bruni, Texas, he met the love of his life, Elba Corse. During their 77 years of marriage, they also lived in Freer, McAllen, Madisonville, and Waco, Texas. Anglin retired from Mobil Oil after 43 years of service and continued to work for Shar-Allan Oil Company and Riata Oil Company. Anglin, a Mason and World War II veteran, had been a lifelong Baptist, served as an active deacon for many years, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway. He will always be fondly remembered for his delicious home-made peanut brittle. Anglin was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; eight brothers; son-in-law, Larry Grimm, and grandson, Wade Grimm. He is survived by his wife, Elba Oswalt; daughters, Beverly Schultz and husband, Charles of Corpus Christi, TX, Nelda Emmert and husband, Gayle of McGregor, TX, and Edwina Nelson of Hewitt, TX. , and son, Royce Oswalt and wife Betty of Richards, TX; grandchildren Jennifer Cole and husband, Adam, Paige Schultz, Holly Souder and husband, Chris, Austin Nelson, Jordan Nelson, and Cara Nelson; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Austin Nelson, Jordan Nelson, Charles Schultz, Gayle Emmert, Johnny Oswalt, and Bob King. The family would like to thank Dr. James Graham, Dr. Rodney Brown, and Visiting Angels for their wonderful care.
