Ann Shamburger July 19, 1939 - June 12, 2013 Anna Jane Shamburger of Waco passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Hulitt Gloer officiating. There will be a private family burial with Rev. Frank Wallace officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, June 16, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Ann was born July 19, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Fred and May Ola Saxon. She graduated from Quitman High School and attended Tyler Junior College. She was dating her future husband, Carl Shamburger during high school and college and they married on June 6, 1959. She was employed at General Tire, R.E. Cox Co. and Texas Farm Bureau/Am-Pac Tire Co. She retired several years ago due to declining health. Ann loved Baylor Sports and she and Carl supported the baseball, men's and women's basketball and softball programs. Ann was a devoted lady serving her church in many capacities. She loved to cook, entertaining groups of family and friends, especially the "84 Domino Club" for over 37+ years. She was a loving and compassionate daughter, wife, sister, mother and an adoring grandmother to her four grandchildren. Ann was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberly Ann; brother, Robert D. Saxon and sister, Jerry June Saxon. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Carl Shamburger; daughter, Michelle Shamburger Royal of Seattle, WA; son, Brian Shamburger and wife, Bridgette of Grapevine, TX; son-in-law, Chad Royal; grandchildren, Alex Royal, M'Laina Royal, Keller Shamburger and Carter Shamburger; sister, Betty Hobbs and husband, David of Magnolia, TX; three nieces and a host of many dear friends and other extended family relatives. Honorary pallbearers are Breakfast Group, 84 Club, Boundless Love Sunday School Class and the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey staff. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Providence Health Center and Providence Hospice for their tremendous care and compassion during these last few days.
