Anna M. Street October 28, 1929 - January 30, 2011 Anna M. Street passed away at her home on January 30, 2011. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Anna Margaret Huff was born October 28, 1929, in Oglesby, Texas, to Virgil Landell Huff and Johnnie Elizabeth Abel Huff. She lived in the Waco area and attended area schools. She married James Burton Todd on November 17, 1951, and had three children. She remained at home to care for the family until the youngest child was in high school, when she returned to school to complete her GED and attend college. She attended McLennan Community College, completing her associate's degree with honors. She worked for the Texas Department of Human Services as a Medicaid Eligibility Worker for sixteen years, retiring in 1991. Anna was born the day before the stock market crashed in 1929 and like most people in that time, she learned to make do or do without. Because her mother worked, Anna was forced to learn to sew and began making and designing her own clothes at age twelve. Through this adversity she acquired a love of sewing and crafting that she thrived on her entire life. Anna loved to make unique and special clothes for her children, but she also sewed for others. She made Highlighter drill team uniform ensembles for the University High School Highlighters by creating the patterns and custom tailoring the uniforms for many Highlighters in the early 1970's. In 2006, Anna was telling her daughter, Allison, about her high school sweetheart, Bob, and Allison noticed stars in her eyes that she had never seen before. Allison helped her become reunited with Bob and they married on May 6, 2006, after being apart for 60 years. These years have been the happiest of Anna's life, and she never missed an opportunity to tell her children how much Bob loved her and how much she loved him. Anna was passionate about everything she did. She devoted herself to being the best mother, room mother, Camp Fire leader, baseball team mother, seamstress, and wife possible. She didn't do things by half-measures. As a mother she nurtured her children and devoted herself wholly to the family. She was generous and loving, and loved to be of service to others. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Burt. Cherishing her memory, Anna leaves three children, Susan Duecy and husband, Pat; Matt Todd and wife, Diane; and Allison Todd. Anna had three grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Michael Duecy and wife, Leigh, of Buda, Tex.; Stephanie Wilson of Waco; and Colin Duecy and wife, Lindsay, of Waco. Finally, Anna leaves two great grandsons, Braden Donaldson of Waco, and Jacob Duecy of Buda. She is also survived by her sister, Frankie Millsaps of Waco, and her brother, Bruce Huff of Houston and wife, Betty; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers are Ed Wilson, Wayne Pritchard, Donald Montgomery, Billie Robinson, Donnie Hall, and Travis Blackwell.
