ANNE BACHIK PATTERSON April 10, 1922 November 8, 2011 Anne Bachik Patterson, loving mother, grandmother, and nursing professional, passed away November 8, 2011, at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the the Rev. Dr. Jimmie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Born April 10, 1922 in Slovakia to Michael and Helen Bachik, she immigrated to the United States with family in 1928. She was educated in New Jersey and graduated from the Passaic General Hospital School of Nursing and Seton Hall University with both BSN and MSN degrees with honors. She was a professional nurse educator and taught Medical/Surgical Nursing. She was appointed the Director of Passaic General Hospital School of Nursing followed and Assistant Administrator at Passaic General in New Jersey until her retirement in 1981. Anne served as President of the New Jersey State Nurses Association in 1967 for four-year term and worked closely with the American Medical Association and National League for Nursing, serving on many committees. Following her retirement in 1981, she and her family moved to Waco, Texas, where she resumed a professional career in Long Term Care. As a nurse, she was a role model for many young people who were inspired by her love of her profession, her leadership and people skills. She was always committed to high standards of patient care and continuing education. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Patterson after 50 years of marriage; her parents; and her sister, Mary Van Dorn. She leaves behind her loving family and will be always remembered.
