Blessed with a quest for knowledge and a mission to share, she was and will continue to be an inspiration. She graduated from Galveston Ball High School as class valedictorian at the age of 16, and from the University Of Texas with honors in 1934 at the age of 20. Eleven years after the death of her husband she moved to Houston to be closer to one of her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving Anne are her two sons, Jerry A. Harris and wife Sylvia of Houston, Texas, and Maury N. Harris, PhD and wife Laurie of New York, New York.
