LITTLE, ARCHIE William Archie Little of Waco passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2002 in Waco. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:30pm Friday, August 23, 2002 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Services will follow at 3pm Friday at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dan White of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Little was born in Corsicana, Texas, where he graduated from Corsicana High School. He attended Trinity University on a football scholarship and later graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Mr. Little was a veteran of the Jolly Rogers 90th Bomb Group and the 345th Air Apaches of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and completed a tour of duty in the South Pacific, Japan, and the Philippines, including Ie Shima, Okinawa, Mindanao, and Manila. In 1942, he married the former Billie Tucker of Waco and on Monday, August 12, 2002, the couple celebrated their 60th anniversary. Mr. Little was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church for over 45 years and attended the Frank Wilson Sunday School Class. He was the purchasing agent for the City of Waco until he retired in 1985. He was a member of the National Purchasing Agents Association. He was also a member of Waco Masonic Lodge No. 92, the Scottish Rite, and the Shrine, receiving his 50-year membership pin in 1995. Through his interest in genealogy, Mr. Little traced his family history to the pre-American Revolutionary War era. Mr. Little was preceded in death by twin brother, Thomas Arthur Little of Waco, who died in 1976. Survivors include wife, Billie; daughter, Millicent Little Odell and husband, James, and their son, Carter, all of Dallas; brother, James Alva Little of Roseburg, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
